That is why, we TheReviewzz.com writers prepared a list of podcasts to listen to when you are about to sleep. All of those podcasts are calming and will get you to sleep right away.

  • Fact: 35.2% of the people in the United States sleep less than 7 hours, which is considered a short sleep duration.  Source here.
  • Fact: Health risk factors, such as obesity, heart attack, stroke and cancer, among that 35.2 % are higher than those who sleep more than 7 hours.  Source here.
  • Fact: Chronic sleep deprivation is associated with depression.  Source here.

  • Researchers have been telling us time and again how we need to have a good night sleep to function efficiently in every aspect of our lives. We might not listen to the scientists and researchers, but above facts do not change simply because we ignore them. We need that sleep, better if it is between 7 to 9 hours.

Literally millions of people are having a hard time to sleep, and whether you have insomnia or any other sleep problems does not change the fact that you might need a little bit of help in the sleep department. Although listening to something might not help everybody, you might find it useful to listen to a voice that is calming and soothing. There are many videos on Youtube and songs on Spotify, but in this post, we are recommending these 8 podcasts to help you sleep.

1- Sleep With Me Podcast

Drew Ackerman is the creator and host of Sleep With Me, the one-of-a-kind bedtime story podcast featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Buzzfeed, Mental Floss, and Dr. Oz. Born out of Drew’s childhood insomnia, Sleep With Me was inspired by late-night comedy radio, which was the only thing that helped him fall asleep.
Created in 2013, Sleep With Me combines the pain of insomnia with the relief of laughing and turns it into a unique storytelling podcast. Drew’s stories on the show are inspired by his childhood as the oldest of six children and past jobs as a fuzzy dice and iron-on patch salesperson, fruit fly monitor for the State of California, and librarian for one of the largest jails in the country. Through Sleep With Me, Drew has dedicated himself to help those who feel alone in the deep dark night and just need someone to tell them a bedtime story.

2- Sleep Whispers Podcast

With more than 180 episodes, Sleep Whispers is one of my favourite podcasts to fall asleep to. The content of the episodes changes greatly, from bedtime stories to educational conversation to chat episodes. Sleep Whispers also have a touch of ASMR. In my opinion, it is one of the most relaxing and peaceful podcasts on the web.

Hello, welcome to the home of my Sleep Whispers podcast.
I created this podcast to help with relaxation and falling asleep because I often have trouble quieting my own mind at night.  The squirrels in my brain just won’t stop running around and it keeps me awake. What works best for me is to listen to something I find interesting enough to keep the squirrels focused, but not too engaging or vocally strong to over excite the squirrels. So this podcast is my attempt to create that for you. I hope you enjoy it

4-Sleepy – Otis Gray

I cannot tell you how much I love Sleepy and Otis’ voice. In every episode of his podcast, he reads popular books. There are not many episodes but the list is growing. It is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Otis is a storyteller, writer, and freelance radio producer from rural Vermont.
For better or worse, Otis’ deep voice put many of his friends to sleep when he asked them to listen to his radio work. So he decided to start a show aimed at helping people catch some zzz’s in a crazy world.
Sleepy first published in February of 2018. Since then, the show has maintained dramatic growth month to month with virtually no advertising. The show has also found huge success on Spotify and is featured on their “Lifestyle & Health” podcast tab. It is currently in position #7 and climbing daily. The show has been shown to drastically help people snooze from the mildly restless to the severely insomniac.

If you are trying to get a good night sleep after spending an hour or so scrolling through upsetting news, cruel comments, and terrifying articles you know this is true. Try something different. Let me tell you a bedtime story. It’s a simple story, in which nothing much happens, you feel good and then you fall asleep.
